BirthRite’s exhibition space at the ICM Congess in beautiful Prague was like a magnet for holistic practitioners, as well as many curious midwives. They came from Zambia, Uganda, India, Japan, Taiwan, Norway, Belgium, Spain, Israel, Barbados, Finland and many other countries.
The new colour range of BirthRite Birthing Seats attracted lots of approving comments. Midwives were interested to learn that Monika had designed all elements of the Floor Studio herself, with the assistance of students and lecturers from the Industrial Design Department of the University of Newcastle, NSW, Australia. Midwives had a lot of fun playing with the birthing equipment and enjoyed being guided by Monika through a gentle 2nd-stage demonstration in the Floor Studio. All midwives loved the Midwife Chair and could not believe how comfortable it is. The Tri-Positional Birth Mirror received many admiring comments, such as why had nobody thought of it before!
Monika’s Birthing Seat Masterclass workshop on the Monday afternoon was received very well. Midwives appreciated being able to practise relaxation and breathing techniques in detail, enhancing their skills for guiding the labouring woman through a very gentle birth. Several of the participants later congratulated Monika for holding “a brilliant workshop”.
